Cardiac education services include group and individual education for people with cardiac conditions and their families. A doctor’s referral is required. Healthy Heart ProgramThe Healthy Heart Program is an education and rehabilitation program for anyone with heart disease. People wishing to join the programs need to be referred by their doctor and bookings are essential. Family or significant others are encouraged to join in as well. The programs can involve the Cardiac Educator, Nutrition Educator, Physiotherapist, Pharmacist and Behaviour modification counsellors. Darwin (Healthy Living NT Tiwi office) - Thursday mornings 9-11am Palmerston (Multi Purpose Room, Palmerston Health Precinct) - Friday afternoon 1:30 - 3:30 Alice Springs - Friday mornings 7-8am exercise (Physio rooms, Alice Springs Hospital) Individual ConsultsIndividual consults for education are provided at both our Darwin and Alice Sprigs offices. This can be used to help manage your heart disease and to better understand the condition. It is encouraged for people returning after a heart procedure or shortly after a heart attack to join the Healthy Heart Program as this includes an exercise program, although individual appointments are available if people cannot make the classes. Again people need to be referred from their doctor.
